The Worcestershire Theatre Festival 2025

Overview

See the running order (left) of plays for the festival to be held at The Norbury Theatre 1st and 2nd March 2025.

We have 2 sessions; Saturday afternoon and Sunday afternoon with the Presentation Session on Sunday evening. There will be 2 or 3 plays in each session. Everyone who wishes to attend the Presentation session will need to buy a £1 ticket.

Preview Day

If you are a member of a performing group, there will be an opportunity to view the theatre prior to the festival and talk to our technical crew about staging, lights and sound. The preview day is also a great opportunity to familiarise yourself with the space -  both onstage and off - which can help the big day go more smoothly.

The preview day is Sunday 2nd Februrary 12:00pm - 2:00pm. No slots - just turn up and say hi!

For further information about preview day, please contact our Stage Manager.

Play Length

There are a number of things to consider, most particularly the performance must last at least 20 minutes but no longer than 55 minutes. You also only have 10 minutes to set, bear this in mind when designing your stage. Have a look at our WTF Rules and FAQs for more details.

The All England Theatre Festival

If you would like to go through to the next round of the competition (if selected), click here to read the All England Theatre Festival rules and Declaration Form, return the Declaration Form with your entry form and £10 opting fee. Please check that your cast /performers will be available to perform on all the dates of the All England rounds.

The National Drama Festival

After the Festival, you may be approached to perform your production at The National Drama Festival. See more details on their website:- www.ndfa.co.uk.

A Few More Things

Here are a few more things you'll need to bear in mind:-

  • It's £25  per performance to enter.
  • If you wish to be considered for progression into the All England Theatre Festival, you must indicate this on your entry form and pay an additional £10 fee. This must be indicated at the time of application - you will not be able to change your mind after the festival has started.
  • You will need a performance licence which must be given to the festival stage manger prior to performance, unless your play has been written by a member of your group.
  • We recommend you have Public Liability Insurance of at least £5,000,000.
  • One or more actors can be in a performance but note that only performances with at least two people can proceed to the All England Theatre Festival (if selected)
  • The final version of your script is needed by us by 31st January 2025
